. Obviously this has been a weird year and a handful of OSU's commits didn't start playing until two weeks ago. Now that everyone is playing again, I'm bringing this weekly update back. We'll start with a quick recap of what each commit has done so far. The Texas commits didn't start playing until two weeks ago, while the Oklahoma commits are about halfway through the season. With plenty of skill players in this class, I'm hoping this weekly update will include plenty of highlights.Bryson and Blaine GreenWRAllen High SchoolAs a twin myself, I hate to loop one in with the other but splitting them in two would waste space and this will be a big post.Allen is 2-0 on the season with a blowout win against an overmatched Plano East squad and an impressive 52-27 thrashing of then-No. 9 Atascocita at home. That win moved Allen up to the No. 5 spot in class 6A according to Dave Campbell's Texas Football, and was due in large part to the Green twins.I was at Allen's big win against Atascocita last weekend and the twins dominated to the game from start to finish. Blaine finished five catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while Bryson also caught five balls for 111 yards. All that damage came in the first three quarters.It's Booty to Blaine Green again! Allen running away with it, 42-7 just 17 seconds into the second half. The win left some wondering if Allen can make another run at a state championship this season. The Eagles fell to Rockwall in round two last season after seven-straight seasons of advancing to round five: the state semifinals.You can't guard him! hauls in this pass to set up a short touchdown run and leads Atascocita 28-7 with 7:28 remaining in the 2nd quarter! Next up is a tough test at No. 12 Cedar Hill before a showdown with Tyler legacy and a bye week before district play begins on Oct. 30. The Green twins will end their regular season against Cam Smith and Denton Braswell on Dec. 3. Collin OliverILBSanta Fe HSSanta Fe didn't get a generous start to its season, taking on state powerhouses Owasso and Stillwater right off the bat. The Wolves fell to Owasso 48-21 before improving a little bit in a 45-32 loss to Stillwater. But Santa Fe has rebounded nicely since its 0-2 start. Oliver finished with two tackles in the loss to Owasso and recorded no stats against Stillwater and Edmond North. Then, the linebacker exploded for nine tackles against Edmond Memorial. He followed that up with five tackles in a 69-14 drubbing of Westmoore.The 3-2 Wolves take on 4-1 Yukon on Friday before two tough games against Jenks and Broken Arrow. The regular season wraps up with winnable games against Enid and Norman after that.The pipeline of great defenders to commit to Oklahoma State out of Edmond Santa Fe is alive and well, folks.Edmond Santa Fe senior #OKState commit Collin OliverLone Star came into the season as one of the top ranked squads in 5A Division I. Unfortunately, it's been a rough go for the Rangers so far. They were shocked on opening night by North Forney 34-31. Then, the Rangers looked more like themselves in a 34-32 road loss to reigning 5A Division II state champion Aledo. Nixon struggled against North Forney, carrying the ball 13 times for 31 yards and and catching four passes for 38 yards. . The speedy back finished with 111 yards and three scores on 19 carries. Despite the 0-2 start, Lone Star still sits at No. 10 in Texas 5A Division I. The Rangers begin district play this week with a showdown against Frisco Heritage. They'll wrap up district play on Dec. 4 against Spencer Sanders' alma mater Denton Ryan, who is favored to win state.Quite shifty! It was a big night for and but it was a better night for Aledo's offense! takes down Frisco Lone Star 34-32! We have all the highlights at 6:30 on NBC5! Jaden BrayWRNorman High School Norman is off to a 1-2 start with a few tough losses. The Tigers fell 34-33 against Mustang in the season opener before a 28-14 loss against Yukon and a 27-20 win against Edmond Memorial. Things aren't getting any easier with Jenks, Broken Arrow and Santa Fe left on the schedule. While Norman has struggled, Bray certainly hasn't He caught four balls for 133 yards against Mustang and caught six balls for 62 yards against Memorial. With such a tough schedule coming up and a 1-2 start, Norman may not make the playoffs. Check out these moves... gotem coach!! The Bengals bounced back for their first win as a 6A squad against my alma mater, Keller, 38-37. That was followed by a 69-63 shootout win against Richardson Pearce on Thursday, but we'll discuss this weeks' games in a post coming next week. Smith has been a human highlight reel this season and is a big reason for Braswell's early 6A success. He finished with seven catches for 68 yards and two scores against Rockwall before carving up Keller for 57 yards and two scores on five catches. The Bengals will have to play state-ranked Denton Guyer and USA Today national poll No. 20 Allen in district play. Smith will have ample opportunity to go up against some of the top talent in the nation.News and Notes for Other CommitmentsThe commitments discussed above all have something in common: I found stats for their squads on Maxpreps. Without that, it's tough to put together much. But occasionally, I'll find stuff on Twitter or elsewhere that warrants enough to include in the post. So for now, here's a short recap and look-ahead for the rest of the class.John Paul Richardson and Fort Bend Ridge Point have struggled out of the gate. The Panthers dropped their first game against a talented Dickinson squad 38-21; Richardson did haul in a 40-yard touchdown in that one. The good news is Ridge Point plays in a pretty easy district, the only challenger for a district title will be George Ranch. The bad news is they match up with the outstanding district 19-6A for the first round of the playoffs. Because Ridge Point has the highest enrollment in the district, they'll be in the 6A-DI playoffs where the Panthers will inevitably match up with Katy or Katy Tompkins in round one. . Raymond Gay and Red Oak dropped game one to 5A-DII No. 1 Ennis, 52-21. Then, COVID struck. The Hawks will miss nearly a month of action between their Sept. 25 loss to Ennis and their next game on Oct. 23, a district showdown with Mansfield Legacy. Gay recorded a 32-yard touchdown reception against Ennis.Aden Kelley and Thomas-Fay-Custer are off to a 3-1 start and look to be on track to make some playoff noise. Kelley is OSU's highest-rated commit at No. 307 in the nation.Ty Williams and Muskogee are all but eliminated from playoff contention with an 0-4 start with Bixby and Booker T. Washington left on the schedule. Williams is one of Oklahoma State's five top-500 prospects at safety. Similarly, Donovan Stephens and Del City are off to an 0-3 start, with close losses to Booker T. Washington and Carl Albert. The Eagles have some winnable games left on the schedule and could make a late playoff push. Offensive tackle Logan Nobles and Jenks are off to a 4-1 start with the lone loss coming in a close 42-35 decision against state-favorite Bixby. As usual, the Trojans will likely make a deep playoff run in November. Makale Smith and Midwest City are off to a nice 3-1 start as well. The Bombers lone loss is to Carl Albert and will likely lose to Stillwater on Halloween-eve. Other than that, Midwest City has a good chance to enter the playoffs with a 7-2 record. Newest commit Silas Barr and Pottsboro are off to another great start. Class 3A Pottsboro is 4-1 on the season with the lone loss coming against 4A Melissa. Pottsboro played for a state championship last season, losing 42-35 to an excellent Grandview squad. The Cardinals have state championship aspirations once again and Barr is a big part of that on the defensive line. Austin Jarrard won't be playing a fall season with American River Community College. Community college play will begin in the spring in California, if at all. Jarrard's community college career is likely over. And that wraps up the updates for each commit.
